I've been mucking about with a little comic, which I've been posting daily over at bewaretheslumpy.com. I posted about it on facebook, but I didn't poke you folks over here, sorry!
Beware the Slumpy was made just to get something out there, even if the artwork is poorly drawn and the jokes are questionable. The Cult of Done Manifesto was somewhat inspirational in its creation. I find that if I can just throw something out there, it’s a rewarding and terrifying experience.
Rewarding, because: “hey, look what I made!”
Terrifying, because: “oh dear god why did I make that?”
When I can't sleep, I sit down at night once or twice a week and create a bunch of comics. As I write this, the 19th comic is up, they are drawn up to #29, and scripted up to #47.
I'm a bit of an insomniac. It provides me with lots of time to work on this. Comics are often posted just after midnight, Eastern time, but not always.
I don't know if there is an intended goal here. I've often thought about making a comic, since I was much younger; this is an exploration of that voice.
And yes, I know that the art sucks. That's the point.
Okay, going to try to go sleep, again. :)
